Our time on the ship from the Wednesday we arrived back in the San Juan Port until disembarkation Sunday was a surprise treat for us. Of course we were disappointed that we didn't make it to our last 4 scheduled islands, but somehow God always knows exactly what we NEED and for Hubby... that need was some R&R.
One of the unexpected "perks" of having to head back into San Juan earlier than anticipated was that we actually got to see San Juan from the ocean in daylight.
As our ship limped back into port, the tugboats came out to meet us, making sure we had enough "oomphf" to make it into our docking position...
Once we were back in dock, we spent the rest of the day (and subsequent days) on board enjoying the amenities of the ship.
Wednesday night was the Ultimate Deck Party on deck by the Neptune Pool where the entertainment staff led us in line-dance routines we'd learned earlier in the week as we danced and partied our little hearts out!

Most days you'd find Hubby here...

Friday evening was our last meal with our new friends, Gord and Barb. In order to get their morning flight on Sunday, they decided to disembark Saturday and stay the night in a hotel so they could get to the airport early. Our ship being stuck in San Juan was a blessing for them too for had we gotten to our islands, we would have more than likely been too late for them to get off the ship in time, thanks to their travel agent switching their flights home to an earlier time. Nonetheless, it was bittersweet that last meal with our new friends.
Our last day on board we savoured all we could. We spent the morning and early afternoon lounging by the pool...

Down by the International Cafe was this amazing St. Patty's Day display. Pays to be on board during a holiday!
We dressed for an early dinner on our last night on the ship and before heading to the dining room we decided to check out the sunset (and the Pink concert on the big screen by the pool).
| Hubby had thrown his back out earlier in the week so I was carrying the "miracle ball" for his back to dinner |
| Our Last Dinner on Board |
One of the highlights of the last dinner on board is always the Parade of Baked Alaska...
It was sad packing up our little cabin in preparation to leave our floating home for the past 14 days but we knew we must. In fact, all the passengers on the ship (whether they were on the first week of their 2 week cruise or not) had to disembark Sunday as the ship was shutting down for two weeks in order to fix the propulsion motor issues. The next scheduled cruise was April 1st (and we left the ship March 18).
Tomorrow is my last post on our trip so if you're not bored to death of my travelling tales, come back and see where we spent our last day in Puerto Rico!
