On the Road Again!

Can you hear Willie Nelson singing? Although he wasn't singing in our car, we sure were on our 13 hour drive from home to Raleigh, NC.

Normally when we travel south to visit my sister we leave before the crack of dawn, starting out in the dark but today we slept in a little and were on the road around 8:30am. Fortunately, with few potty breaks along the road, we made excellent time, especially since we avoided the D.C. area this time.

The sun was shining bright and we were singing along to the music in our Mp3 players to keep us amused on the road.

Originally we had intended to drive about 8 or so hours and find a hotel along the road but since we were making such amazing time we decided to surprise my sister. We called from the end of her street: "Hi! We're making good time and wondered if you'd mind if we came tonight instead of tomorrow" I said. "SURE!" was my sister's response, "Where are you?" "Um... We're in North Carolina... we should be there within the hour"... Two seconds later we were ringing their door! She was TOTALLY surprised and happy... now she gets MORE time with us before they leave and we're here to puppysit


So... we're here... safe and sound... with internet connection on my laptop! Thank you LORD for getting us here safely!
